Bumpers - 99MW BESS
Successful delivered the HV package at Europe’s largest BESS, totalling 198MWh.
Energised in October 2023, this cutting-edge battery energy storage system plays a crucial
role in stabilizing the GB electricity grid while supporting the transition to renewable energy.
The site features 56 Tesla 2-hour duration Megapacks, delivering a total capacity of 99MW
and 198MWh—enough to power approximately 225,000 homes for two hours. These
batteries are integrated with 28 high-capacity 4200kVA 33kV/480V Wilson T2 Eco trans
large distribution transformers and two 150kVA 33kV/415V units. By providing critical grid-
balancing services, this project enhances energy reliability and facilitates the reduction of
fossil fuel dependency.
Wormald Green - 30MW BESS
Responsible for the full electrical and fibre package at a 33MW/66MWh BESS.
Designed to enhance grid resilience and support the transition to renewable energy, this
advanced battery energy storage system can power approximately 200,000 homes for two
hours. By providing additional capacity during peak demand, it plays a vital role in
stabilizing the GB power grid and managing fluctuations in renewable energy supply.
Envision Energy led the supply, installation, and maintenance of the 2-hour duration Battery
Energy Storage Systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
Hawthorn Pit - 49MW BESS
Delivery of a full electrical and fibre package at a 49.9MW/99.8MWh BESS.
Located in Durham, this advanced battery energy storage system enhances grid stability and
supports the integration of renewable energy. With the capacity to power approximately
200,000 homes for two hours, it provides essential frequency regulation and load balancing
during peak demand. The system features 2-hour duration Battery Energy Storage Systems,
supplied, installed, and maintained by Envision Energy. Our team was responsible for
delivering the full electrical and fibre package, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient
operation.
Yellow River - 101MW Windfarm
Responsible for the MV and Fibre package at a 100MW Wind Farm in Rhode, Co. Offaly.
Located in Ireland, this wind farm will generate enough low-carbon renewable energy to
power 66,000 homes annually while offsetting 65,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions per
year, contributing significantly to Ireland’s 2030 renewable energy targets. The site consists
of 29 wind turbines, scheduled for commissioning in early 2025. Our team was responsible
for delivering the full MV and fibre package, ensuring efficient power distribution and
seamless communication infrastructure.
